Where are you planted?

Do you ever doubt yourself and feel as if you can be of no use to God and others? I do...on a regular basis. That same voice is the one that told me only alcohol would fix it, that God couldn't possibly love me after all my mistakes, and that it's better to keep my problems to myself out of shame and judgement.

Today, I know that is the voice of the enemy Satan, who would rather see me broken and planted in the world, not healed and bearing good fruit for others to see Christ. When he whispers those words of defeat, Jesus steps in to remind me that I belong to Him. That I am here to serve a greater purpose, and staying rooted in Him will allow others to see His work.

When I am planted in God's word and listen for His direction, my sweet Savior's voice drowns out the negative voices of the enemy and the world.

I pray for God to allow me to listen to His word and seek His face everyday. Every. Single. Day. When I stay close to Him, everything in my life is prosperous.

"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers." - Psalms 1:1-3
